Erika Paul – NCTM, BMI artist, self-published Harry Fox member and AFM 25+ year member, is that rare career music artist that balances music performance, teaching, songwriting and recording, finding herself equally comfortable being a sideman, leader, teacher and recording jazz artist, enjoying touring locally as well as internationally, solo as well as in small combos all the way up to full 17-piece big bands, on piano and vocals, teaching private piano, voice and guitar while writing and recording constantly as a prolific original indie artist. Erika currently has 12 cds available for sample and purchase on iTunes, is featured on over 60 local and international YouTube videos and was also awarded a 2014 Honorary Fellowship from the Nevada Arts Council for her original music. Erika’s trio is currently on it’s second 3-year rotation of performing  educational jazz assembly concerts for the Pioneer Center Youth Program in Northern Nevada and you can also find Erika on piano in the DG Kicks 17-piece big band on Tuesday nights from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Third Street Blues Club in downtown Reno and singing with the DG Kicks octet as well.

In 2007, Erika received permanent national certification through the MTNA as a private instructor of excellence. In 2005, Erika created, produced and arranged the Grammy-nominated  “Scat’s My Bag” k-8th grade children’s educational cd introducing over 100 years of American jazz through 4 standard and 13 original songs that also received three prestigious national awards from NAPPA, Children’s Web and Parents’ Choice. Erika also created a leadsheet songbook and drawing/coloring storybook to go with the cd.

Neil A. Kjos Music Co. also published two early to intermediate level solo piano pieces Erika arranged of her original songs, “Clean Your Room (To The Trumpet Tune) and “Clarinet Claire” that can be purchased online through the Kjos website.
